A concentrate is cannabis with the plant material taken out. Producers extract the resin — the part of the flower that carries cannabinoids and terpenes — and leave the leaf and stem behind. What remains is far denser than flower, and it arrives in a range of textures depending on how it was made and how it was handled afterward.
There are two broad families. Solvent-based extracts use a solvent such as butane or CO2, which is then purged off. Solventless extracts use only heat, pressure, ice and water. Neither is automatically better. Solventless products like rosin and hash are prized for flavor; solvent-based products come in a wider variety of textures and formats, including most vape cartridges.

- Shatter — a hard, glassy sheet that snaps when you break it. Stable and easy to store, though fussy to portion.
- Wax, badder and budder — the same kind of extract, whipped or agitated into a soft, opaque texture. Much easier to scoop than shatter.

- Rosin and live rosin — solventless, pressed with heat and pressure. Usually the priciest thing in the case, and usually the most flavorful.
- Hash and infused pre-rolls — traditional pressed hash, or a joint with hash or kief added. A sensible middle step if you are not ready for a dab rig.
- Vape cartridges and disposables — concentrate sealed in a cartridge with a battery. Far and away the most popular format, because there is no rig, no torch and no learning curve.

How weed and pot delivery works for concentrates in New Jersey
Ordering a concentrate is no different from ordering flower. You pick a licensed dispensary’s menu, place the order, and a TerpTaxi driver collects it and brings it to you. Delivery hours are 9 AM to 10 PM, every day. There is a $75 minimum order on delivery everywhere we serve, with one exception: orders in Hoboken have no minimum.
How long it takes depends mostly on whether a licensed partner dispensary sits inside your town. Towns with an in-town partner typically see orders arrive in 25 to 40 minutes. Jersey City orders usually arrive in 35 to 50 minutes. Newark, which does not have an in-town partner yet, usually runs 40 to 60 minutes, because the order comes from a licensed dispensary nearby.

The practical difference is onset. Anything you inhale — flower, a vape cart, a dab — takes effect within a few minutes, so you can tell where you stand before deciding whether you want more. Edibles pass through your digestive system first and take considerably longer. New Jersey’s rules for cannabis delivery are strict, and they are worth knowing before a first order:
- You must be 21 or older, and your photo ID is checked in person at the door — every time, including repeat orders.
- Deliveries go to a residence. We cannot deliver to a business, a hotel lobby, a park, a parking lot or any federal property.
- An order is never left unattended. Someone 21 or older has to be there to receive it.
- New Jersey’s personal possession limit is 6 ounces.
